We will not price your event based on the car your driving, or the size of
the diamond on your wedding ring. This has become a common question in the last couple years, as more and more struggling DJ companies scramble to keep from going bankrupt. The answer to this question is no, and there is a reason why; Only companies who are in deep financial trouble are going to offer to “price match” a competitor's service. If a DJ company (or any company, for that matter) is desperate enough to reduce their price in order to make a sale, that says they have financial instability. It’s natural for some businesses to succeed, and for some to fail, and those that fail do so for a reason, be it poor a reputation, or poor management. Our best advice is that engaged couples should think twice when any kind of excessive discount or “price matching” is offered by a company . This is a typical red flag that something is wrong. We realize that our set pricing may put us out of the running in some cases, but we hope that most clients will give us the opportunity to meet with them and demonstrate the true value of our services, including the reliability and professionalism we provide. There is a no difference in terms of what we expect from our performance and what our clients expect. I've always keep my price at a level more affordable than most DJ services and it's not a reflection of my lack of experience or talent as some people would have you believe. I don't spend a lot on advertising. That's why you won't find me on those fancy wedding websites. The DJ services that are listed there spent a lot of money to be there. That does not make them a better choice in a DJ Entertainment service, just more expensive to cover their advertising costs. Some people will fall for the very persuasive sales pitch of the business owner of a large DJ service with many DJs and wind up paying a high price for a boring DJ with no personality or dance floor lights. Big is not necessarily better. These companies are like fast food restaurants. McDonalds is a big company, but you wouldn't serve Big Macs at your Reception, would you? What's even worse is the person who finds the cheapest DJ they can and winds up with someone who ruins their whole evening because of their lack of experience and talent. My service does not fall into either of those two categories. I'm not the cheapest, certainly not the most expensive, simply one of the best. My compensation is not all monetary. Much of it comes from the good feeling and satisfaction that I get when I know that I played a major part in making the biggest day of a couples life a wonderful one to remember. Don Paul spends over 20 hours (meetings, preparation, set-up, performance, tear-down & driving) on each wedding. As you look at different entertainment companies, compare them on the basis of the service they offer you. Prepare a list of questions. We suggest Questions To Ask a DJ before signing a contract. Ask EVERY company and record their answers. Use the answers to rule out the companies you don't want to work with, and rank the remaining companies based on their answers. Call the references from the remaining companies. Use those conversations to further reduce your list. If and when you get down to a short list of a few companies that you would be EQUALLY happy to hire based on their answers and references, that is when price can be useful for further ranking. All it takes to hold your date is a $150. deposit. The price is determined by location of the event, time, setup, and preparation needed. Why are these details so important in determining what the rate is? Simply put, it is supply and demand. Since 5 Star Entertainment is a single system, owner-operated company, a very limited number of dates are available each year. Some months are considered prime wedding season and those dates are in very high demand. It is quite understandable that a company party on a Friday in January, or a family picnic on a Sunday afternoon will have a lower rate than a Saturday wedding reception during the busy summer or fall. Either way, Five Star Entertainment is a great value for the outstanding service and options that are provided. For the price you'll receive a Professional MC with over 20 years experience, a helper DJ, a dance floor Light show, 2 wireless microphones for your toasts at the table, unlimited consultation hours, unlimited hours of Great Music, and a Professional former Radio DJ and MC doing microphone introductions. As a thank you, all brides or grooms in the military, or public servants (firefighter, police officer or school teacher) receive 10% on my DJ services.
